Please keep Brooklyn in your prayers. She is in NICU. Labor only lasted around 3 hours once my water broke and no pushing was involved. Once I was at a ten and leaned forward she made her way into the world. They weren't kidding about the hyper moblie thing. She swallowed a lot of fluid that as a result got deep in her lungs. The good news is that is was clear fluid and they said it was a good thing she was born at 38 wks vs. 40 wks. When she was born she never let out that loud cry that expels all of the fluid and had a hard time breathing. Mommy will catch up later on the details but just wanted everyone to know that you are just beautiful and doing better every hour. You haven’t needed any help breathing today and are the biggest baby out of 29 babies in the NICU. I had one of those moments as a mother that is the ulmitate fear….you turned completely blue and stopped breathing after you were done with your second feeding. We didn’t think you were going to get to nurse for the first 48 hrs. because of the complications but you did better than expected with recovery that I got to start nursing again in the middle of the night. You are the best eater Mommy has had. You take around 45 minutes with each feed which means since you aren’t in my hospital room I have only slept about 2-3 hrs total since Sunday night because I have to come to you to feed. You aren’t in the same room as me which is the hardest thing to accept even though I know that is what is best for you. Talk about hormones going hay wire. We hopefully will get to go home together on Thursday. You have to continue to be on antibiotics with your IV until 5pm tomorrow..we should get back all cultures then and know the results of the beta strep results along with every thing else. Your chest x-ray looked about the same today as yesterday however you aren’t grunting as much. You still haven’t given us a good cry so we are awaiting to hear you do this. The last 24 hrs. have felt like two weeks and I’m so very thankful for all of our family and friend’s prayers and support. She finally got to have her first sponge bath tonight and Jackson got to watch. He had the honor of telling everyone yesterday that it was a girl. He walked in and looked at her and said "Mommy it is a girl like Bailey." It blew my mind that he knew right when he saw her. Bailey of course can’t stop touching her. She says “mine” and doesn’t like it much for anyone to hold her but me or her! I will fill in all of the details later…nursing duties call. So excited to have another daughter.
